NASCAR Fans Are Loyal Because Of Unprecedented Access To The Sport by Art Gib
There are many fans who love the sport of auto racing. In particular, NASCAR is the most popular of all kinds of racing. The sport has grown in popularity not only in the United States, but also throughout the world. Some of this growth worldwide may be due to the influx of international drivers.
One of the reasons NASCAR is so popular is because of the tremendous effort that they have made to involve the fans in the sport and to connect with them. One way that they do this is to publish the scanner channels of all of the race teams each race to hand out to those who are there at the track.
By distributing those channels, the fans can use Uniden NASCAR scanners to hear the conversations of their favorite driver with the members of their team throughout the race. By doing this, fans get a behind the scenes look at what is going on as it is happening. This is a unique way to get the fans involved. Imagine the fans at an NFL game being able to listen in on the conversations between the head coach and his offensive and defensive coordinators. That would be access that would engage the fans even more. However, they do not do this.
In NASCAR, the fans are also engaged by the ability to purchase pit passes. This is also a sense of being allowed to go behind the curtain. This again engages the fans and creates a fan base that is loyal. Again, imagine if you could purchase a pass that allowed you into the locker room at an NBA game. How many more loyal fans would you gain? But again, this is access that can only be gained in NASCAR.
Another reason NASCAR has so many loyal fans is because of the close, nail biting type racing that comes from the sport. Rarely does someone run away and win by a great distance. In fact, NASCAR has been known for its close, down to the wire races that end up with some accidents, a few shouting matches and a car in victory lane with a tire mark or two on the door.
The fact is the racing in NASCAR is far more exciting than any other type of auto racing. It is not hard to see why people love it so much. It is also easy to understand then, why they enjoy listening on the scanners to the chaos.
